We are each keeping our same names. Amanda Bloomgren and Tamas Pomazi.

Apparently. Tamas is a graffiti artist with a lot of tattoos and a penchant for wearing t-shirts with pictures of guns. Amanda is a lawyer who likes to change her hair color and buys too many shoes. You would never guess, but somehow it works.

Yup. The story is that Amanda was trying to sell a couch on craigslist. Tamas thought maybe he wanted a couch, but instead got the girl.

Thanksgiving 2006, while visiting Tamas's Mom, Ria, in Miami. It feels like eons ago. We decided to take our time in actually getting to the alter. See FAQs below for what we've been up to since our engagement.

Yes. We decided to do things a bit backwards. First, we moved in together. Then we got engaged. Then, Alex, Tamas's 16 year old (at the time) son, moved in with us. Alex will be graduating from Waconia High School two weeks before the wedding.

Yes, on December 27, 2008, we were married in a small ceremony at Amanda's parents house. You could say that was our marriage and we are having a wedding in June. Or you could say we're just crazy and wanted two weddings.
In reality, the "lawyer" in Amanda is just too practical. We received a large tax benefit for being married in 2008, so it had to be done. No, not a very romantic concept, but the evening ended up being a very romantic one.
We are even more excited to share our union with all of our family and friends on on June 13th.

Biggie Smalls is our chihuahua. Tamas gave Biggie to Amanda for her birthday. Tamas, the big guy who loves pit bulls, loves Biggie to death. It might be because Biggie thinks he is a pitbull.

Waconia is about 40 minutes west of Minneapolis. It is a small town located on a beautiful lake. Amanda's grandmother lives in Waconia and Amanda grew up playing on the lake. In the spring of 2008, we bought a home right outside of town and across the street from the lake.

Not quite all ten. But, we bought a foreclosed property that had been wintered over. We had lots of water leaks (floods), one even so big that frog came in the house through the leak (frogs), Tamas cut his hand and got ten stitches at our housewarming party (blood) .... After the blood, we decided to call in the Rabbi. No more plagues, but Amanda's Dad thinks its because of his handiwork and not the Mezuzah on the front door.
