FAQS about Travel

Please review this section if you are traveling from out of town or wish to stay in a hotel on the wedding night
  • I am traveling from out of state/country, when should I arrive?

We are so honored you are planning to share our wedding day with us. Most of our out of town and out of country guests are relatives and close family friends of Tamas. If you fall into this category, please contact Ria directly to discuss your travel plans in more detail. She can advise you on when other family and friends plan on being in town and help coordinate best arrival times.

We hope that you are able to take the opportunity to enjoy Minnesota longer than just the wedding weekend. If you are planning on being in town before Friday June 12, 2009 or after Sunday June 14, 2009, please review the FAQS below about places to stay before and after the wedding weekend.

  • What airport should I fly into?

Even thought the wedding is in Wisconsin, you should fly in to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport (Airport Code: MSP)

  • Do I need to rent a car?

    Probably not.

If you stay at one of the Stillwater/Hudson hotels on the night of June 12th or June 13th, your transportation will be taken care of to and from Willow Ridge Gardens.

If you are in town before the 12th or staying the night of the 14th or later, we will assist in transportation to and from the hotels around the Mall of America area to the Stillwater/Hudson hotels and back again.

We will also do our best to assist in helping you to and from the airport. Please see other FAQs below regarding this issue.

  • Where should I stay before June 12th or After June 14th?

If you are planning on being in town longer than just the wedding weekend there are a lot of options for lodging. We recommend you make reservations at a hotel close to the Mall of America in Bloomington. This will put you close to the Mall as well as the Airport and the Lightrail Transit system which will take you to downtown Minneapolis.

The following website provides options for hotels near the mall at various price ranges: http://www.bloomingtonmn.org/accommodations.asp.

If necessary, we can arrange to help you to your hotel from the airport. Also, on Friday June 12th, we will help move you to one of the hotels listed in the FAQ below that is closer to the wedding site. On Sunday June 14th, we will arrange to get you back to one of the hotels listed above or to the airport in time for your flights.

Once again, please discuss your out of town travel needs with Ria or Amanda so we can make sure you are taken care of and in the right place at the right time!

  • Where should I stay on June 12th and June 13th?

Willow Ridge Gardens is located very close to the Stillwater Hudson area. Stillwater is a great place to shop, dine and wander. We will be hosting a party on the night of June 12th in the Stillwater area and hope you all can make it. Please see the wedding updates section for more information closer to the wedding date.

Unfortunately, we were unable to reserve a block of rooms with a reduced wedding rate at any location, but there are many hotels to choose from in Stillwater/Hudson. You can visit the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce for a variety of lodging options: http://www.ilovestillwater.com/lodging.php

There will be shuttle service to and from the following hotels:

    The Water Street Inn.
101 Water Street South, Stwillwater, MN 55082
    651.439.6000
    http://www.waterstreetinn.us/
This is where Tamas and Amanda are staying. It is an historic inn located right on the river, down town Stillwater, near the historic lift bridge and across the street from a store Tamas designed the logo for.

    The Lowell Inn
102 North Second Street, Stillwater, MN 55082
    651.439.1100
    http://www.lowellinn.com/
The Lowell in is only 2 blocks from the Water Street Inn. It is also an historic inn. The room rates are more reasonable than at the Water Street Inn. Please be aware there are no elevators at the Lowell Inn. If you are concerned about using the stairs, make sure to request a room on the second floor.

    AmericInn, New Richmond
1020 South Knowles Avenue, New Richmond, WI 54017
    Toll Free Reservations: 800-396-5007
    Front Desk: 715-246-3993
    http://www.americinn.com/hotels/WI/NewRichmond
This is the perfect solution if you are just looking for a place to crash on the night of the wedding. The hotel is located very close to the event site and the rooms are very resonably priced. We do not recommend this option for guests flying in from out of state because you will miss the experience of down town Stillwater.

**DON'T FORGET. Camping at the wedding site is an option for lodging. Please see the FAQs about Wedding Section for details
